Nerve honors literary sex writing
Nerve has been running a neat monthly feature, the Henry Miller Award. They excerpt the sex scenes from five recent books, and let readers vote on each selection's hotness, literary merit and originality. Last month's nominees included Dave Eggers, Joyce Carol Oates and Walter Mosley. Great idea. Like the Oprah book club, except you only have to read the dirty parts. Or like the Bad Sex in Fiction Prize without the prissy "serious writers shouldn't be vulgar" bent.
