Naked kouros men at Olympics opening ceremonies

http://www.dazereader.com/24000554.htm There was indeed some nudity during the Olympics opening ceremonies: a group of naked men made up as kouros statues. NBC tried valiantly to avoid showing the marble genitalia, but Towleroad has a good photo. (Link snagged from Fleshbot.) Athens2004.com has two more photos of the naked kouros hunks here and here.

So what is a kouros? This scholarly site has more info about the classical kouros statues with many photos. And lots more pictures via Google.

UPDATE: Some penis experts believe the kouros performers were wearing speedos with fake stone genitals. Upon further review, I think they're right. That would certainly have made the makeup artist's job easier, not to mention protecting against arousal malfunctions during the show.
