Law enforcement targetting online escort services
MSNBC concludes its series on online dating with a look at law enforcement efforts against online escort services. Much of the article deals with Florida prosecutors' case against a site which facilitates communication between prostitutes and clients and features reviews, rankings and message boards about prostitutes in different areas.
I wasn't familiar with the site in question, but it sounds like a good system. It keeps both negotiations and sex acts off the streets; allows prostitutes to work more independently without pimps or madames; and makes the whole process safer for everyone. So why are police and prosecutors wasting time and resources on victimless crimes involving consenting adults?
